I'm not sure who set up this set, but to leave the mattress off the bed was a large omission since it was part of the set being sold. This error wasn't discovered until the film was developed, which was after the set was taken down, so I was hired to fix the problem.

Here's the finished image with the mattress I created digitally. I also had to extend the cover and create parts of the pillows that were covered up by the side table.

Due to a tight press schedule I had to shoot the city shots before Thanksgiving which meant that there were no lights in the trees yet. Troy, NC is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cites at Christmas and I've admired it for years so I knew what I had to do to make it appear as it does in December. I decided to composite two buildings to form the storefront and changed the blue paint on the building to green to better keep the theme. There were quite a few power lines around the traffic light which had to be removed. Then I added the lights to the trees and took pictures of one of my wreaths to be hung throughout the image. To further the illusion, I made the sidewalks have snow, frosted the windows of the buildings, and dusted the street. Without making the image too dark, I wanted to make it appear as if the truck driver was headed home on Christmas Eve so I added a glow around the headlights after brightening them as if the lights were lit. I did the same for the green light, although it was eventually covered by the company logo. Last, but not least, I photographed the truck in the Crook Motor Company's lot, trimmed out the surroundings, and composited it into the picture.

These are two restoration jobs. The second of which being the most challenging since there was not a complete image between the two original pictures.
